Ruth Sternberg Portnoy, Lead RSP Strategist
Ruth began her career as a journalist, writing stories and columns for daily newspapers, journals and magazines from the mid-1980s to the turn of the millennium. She turned to nonprofit work in the early 2000s, drawing on her personal interest in social change and history of volunteer grassroots involvement.

Ruth assists nonprofits in identifying their key audiences, telling their stories and building strategies for engagement. She coaches nonprofit officers, staff and board members in proposal writing and donor cultivation.

Ruth is an active member of the Central Ohio Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is deeply, personally involved in community service through membership on two Ohio boards: The Mentoring Center of Central Ohio and Haven of Hope Cancer Foundation. She is a key developer of the Mentoring Center’s new leadership initiative, “Beyond the Blackberry,” debuting at the Columbus Foundation in late April.

She is a graduate of Ohio State (BA) and Kent State (MA) universities. Ruth is a proud graduate of training programs at the Fund Raising School, the Center on Philanthropy.

Dave Sternberg, Senior Consultant
Dave is infamous for telling nonprofit boards that they do not have a fundraising problem. Rather they have a board problem. Since the 1990s Dave has worked with hundreds of nonprofit boards from all sectors and of all sizes. His formula is simple: He will not accept the status quo nor let his clients accept it. Dave is a Senior Governance Consultant with BoardSource and author of Fearless Fundraising for Nonprofit Boards. He can deliver the right message in an unrefutable way! In fact, as a member of the faculty of The Fund Raising School Dave has trained professionals in the US, Europe and the Virgin Islands! Maybe your organization is next!!!!

Tiffany McCallen, Marketing Strategizer, Graphic Designer and Copy Editor
Tiffany has spent the past decade supervising the marketing strategies of a national, nonprofit organization; organizing its national conference; and designing its printed and Web-based materials. She speaks “printer-ese” fluently and loves coming up with imaginative postcards and brochures. And here’s a bonus: she’s great at improving your copy. Shellee Fisher-Davis, Photographer
This jazz-loving independent spirit obeys her creative instincts. Her portfolio includes familiar faces, among them President Obama, former Ohio Sen. John Glenn, Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman and Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland. Shellee shot all the photos for the Women’s Book (www.TheWomensBook.com). You might see her roving about at a community event, training her lens on the action. Seeing is believing. Check her out at www.aoephotography.com.

Daniel Newman, Web-page designer
Daniel has been surfing the ‘Net since it went public. Since then, he has mastered the art of information design, and has created Websites for numerous concerns. He operated his own business in New York City for several years, then returned to Ohio to raise his family. He founded and ran a (still) successful biweekly publication for six years, including its Web pages, and now offers his services to a variety of central Ohio organizations.
